Humble Quilts Class or Workshop? from Humble Quilts

Since I'm training for a half marathon I've had lots of time to let my mind wonder about Humble Quilts and what I want 2022 to look like.
I want to ask you all what you think about a short class once a month. We could do a small quilt project, learn about antique quilts or reproduction fabric. I think the possibilities are endless.  Please watch the short video and let me know what you think!

Leave me a comment or send me an email at HumbleQuilts@gmail.com for any ideas!

Thank you so much!

String Quilts Your Way from Humble Quilts

I was the lucky teacher for the North Cities Quilt Guild in Yorba Linda, CA. I love that Zoom makes it possible to connect with other quilters regardless of distance.

Monday evening my lecture was Reruns: Quilts Inspired by the Past. This is my most popular lecture and reproductions are my favs!

Tuesday we did String Quilts Your Way workshop.
The quilt above came from that workshop and is published in American Patchwork and Quilting
August 2021 issue. This quilt welcomes people to my house as it ...

Fun on Friday from Humble Quilts

Here's my "Not new project" LOL Pieced with appliqued handle was the preferred vote, but looking back on the original antique, the handles were wide and chunky and I don't think I could have done a good job with that same look using applique. Hey, you never know, I may do another one that is pieced! LOL  The lighter blue and hand dyes were done in a class with Lori Triplett in Houston. You can see that post HERE- scroll down to see what I dyed and what I purchased in class.  Some of you asked if I ...

Looking Ahead to 2021 from Humble Quilts

As much as I'd like to be at your guild meeting in person it may not happen for awhile.

But I'm glad there is an alternative. I did 2 different Zoom lectures last week. My daughter was asking how it went and I told her I thought it went well.

What is hard? No immediate feedback to my jokes! LOL In so many photos (like in the top picture) I like to make my lectures informative but also fun. When you have a large group everybody is muted so there is no noise. (no dogs barking or husbands ...

The Final Swap Quilts! On The Slow Boat! from Humble Quilts

Back in June I posted this on the Humble Quilts facebook group inquiring on the last 3 quilts taking the "slow boat" on their journey to their swap partner. LOL
All was silent. On July 6 I posted this one. The little quilts must be on an even smaller and slower boat to their destination! LOL

And then TADA!
The first quilt arrived from Japan! Cynthia made this for Robin.
Then boom, the next quilt arrived! This was destined for Sicily, Italy to Rina from Mary Ellen.

Then bada bing! The 3rd and final quilt of the swap arrived from ...
